REVIEW: Rimmel Gentle Eye Make Up Remover ! <3

Anyone who generally wears makeup knows the importance of a good makeup remover. Not only can makeup, if not removed properly, look extremely bad in the mornings, it can also clog your pores and result in blemishes which are just plain annoying.

I picked up the Rimmel Gentle Eye Makeup Remover in the hopes that it would help get rid of my makeup easily.

WHAT IT CLAIMS: Gently removes all eye makeup, including long lasting and waterproof makeup. No oily residue. Suitable for sensitive eyes and contact wearers. Dermatologically and Opthalmologically tested.

WHAT I THINK ABOUT IT: When I think of makeup remover, a magical potion which instantly cleanses my skin of any makeup in a jiff and leaves it feeling nice and smooth comes to mind. I have yet to come across a potion such as that one, but this makeup remover has come pretty close.

The packaging is pretty simple. The product comes in a plastic bottle with a flip open cap. It seems a bit cheap, but truthfully, I don't mind cheap packaging if the product itself is good.

It does not have any detectable scent and a water- like consistency. Another bonus is that the formula is oil- free! YAY!

This makeup remover performs really well. It doesn't make my eyes sting or water at all. It does feel quite gentle, so it definitely lives up to it's claim of being suitable for sensitive eyes.

It removes my makeup well, but it doesn't completely get rid of it on the first swipe. I find that one cotton puff isn't to completely remove my makeup; I need at least two cotton puffs for that. I also find this makeup remover has a tough time with waterproof mascara. I have to do a decent amount of scrubbing in order to get rid of it.

One thing I absolutely love about the Rimmel Gentle Eye Make Up Remover is that it doesn't make my skin oily after I use it and it doesn't sting my eyes. Other makeup removers I've used just made my skin really greasy and it wasn't a good feeling. This however, felt like I was just cleansing my face with regular water!

YOU'LL LOVE IT BECAUSE:

-It's really gentle on your skin

-It doesn't sting your eyes

-It's pretty inexpensive

-It's easily available

-It removes most of your makeup easily

-It doesn't leave your skin feeling greasy

YOU'LL HATE IT BECAUSE:

-You run out of it quickly =(

OVERALL VIEW: I'm quite infatuated with this makeup remover, considering the fact that other makeup removers I've tried in the past left my skin feeling oily and greasy. I know it doesn't get rid of everything at once, but I'm willing to spend a few extra minutes taking off my makeup just because this actually does a pretty decent job of get all of it off. I also adore the fact that it's oil and scent free! Have you tried the Rimmel Gentle Eye Make Up Remover? What do you think of it?

The Many Uses of Fix+ Spray ! <3

The Many Uses of Fix+ Spray!

There are many ways to enjoy and utilize this product and I'm sure you all may have some of your own so please comment and share and pass on the love!!

The product description per MAC website:

An aqua-spritz of vitamin and minerals, infused with a calm-the-skin blend of green tea, chamomile, cucumber, topped off with the fresh, natural, energizing scent of Sugi. Adds radiance, finishes makeup. Spray it on. Skin drinks it up!
100 ml / 3.4 fl oz

  • This fabulous fine misting spray is great for setting your makeup and helping make it last longer.
  • I love using it to help de-mattify my face if I want a dewier look or if a client has changed their mind and don't want a matte look.
  • Probably the most common way this is used is as a mixing medium. There are two ways to do it and it's all about preference: 1. spray your brush with Fix+, shake off any excess (so it's not wicked wet) then work with your eye shadows, pigments, etc. and it will make them pop and be super vibrant! 2. the other way to do this is to pack the shadow, pigment, etc. on the brushfirst, then spritz the brush with the Fix+ spray and apply to your eye as usual, just be sure you don't use it on your matte shadows or it will ruin them! They'll get cakey and crumbly and be gross. Boo! Hiss!
  • To the point above, spritzing your face brush of choice then swiping it across or swirling it into your Mineralize Skinfinish Foundations before applying to your face will give you a beautiful, natural finish to your look. The end result is awesome!
  • Because of the healing ingredients in this product, it's a great skin refresher, rejuvenater, healer! If you have redness or acne, spritz your face and you'll notice a reduction in irritation. It's especially wonderful to people with sensitive skin, like me. ;-)
  • Because this has caffeine in it, it wakes your skin up and gives it (and you!) a bit of a boost and little pep in your step!
  • I love using this in my hair. Yup, you read that right. It's incredibly conditioning to the hair follicles and your scalp. It also helps with frizz! this year, Germany was experiencing some sporadic rain and by the end of Day 1, my hair looked like I had stuck my finger in a light socket. No joke. I made a bee line for the MAC Pro store down the street and spritzed my head all over, massaged it gently into the roots and voila! Not-so-scary-me was back! Hahaha! It was all smoothed out and calmed down and I didn't look like the bride of Frankenstein.
  • A dampened powder puff using MAC's Fix+ Spray is a great way to absorb excess oil and moisture from the skin without moving the makeup.
  • How about a moisturizer for your skin!?? Sure! I tend to only do this in the evening as I like to wear a moisturizer with an SPF of at least 30 in it (sun and UVB = bad for your skin!) during the day, but after washing my face instead of applying my normal moisturizer, I spritz Fix+ and I'm good to go.
Overall, this is just a "makes you feel good like a big 'ol hug" product that I think everyone should have. LOL! It smells wonderful yet it's such a light "barely there" perfume scent that it's not heavy or overpowering. If you really don't like any scent whatsoever, then this is definitely not the product for you but check it out first b/c you may find it's ok for you!

These are just the main ways I use this product but I'm sure there are tons of other ways that people use it so please share your tips!

Happy Gorgeous Sunday, lovelies!

MAC prolong wear concealer ! <3

What is MAC pro long wear concealer?
"A lightweight fluid concealer that provides medium to full coverage with a  comfortable natural matte finish. The colour-true formula lasts up to 15 hours and is available on 15 shades. It helps conceal and correct the look of under eye circles and discolourations. Comes in a clear glass vial with a matte black pump".

Ok, so this does exactly as the description states above - EXACTLY. Note this can be used all over the face aswell as under the eyes.

Swatch: MAC Pro Longwear Concealer NW15

I have the shades NW15 and NW25  which matches the tone under my eyes perfectly, just being a little lighter than my skin tone and 'highlight' the eye area. I do suggest you go to a MAC counter or stand alone store to get colour matched if your new to MAC as you want to get the shade for under the eyes very precise.

Application -
The only 'small' downfall is with the packaging and the pump nozzle as you get a lot of product out from just one pump and you can end up wasting a lot of product as please note: you only need a small amount. Try (if you can) to control the pump to get as little out as possible, but it is tricky. The main reasons companies do use pumps is just for good hygiene.

I pump a small amount onto the back of my hand, then use a fluffy concealer brush to blend and buff this under my eye then use my ring finger to gently melt it into the skin. I then finish off by setting with a little translucent powder.

With the concealer left on my hand, I then use on the rest of the face on areas I want to 'highlight' like tops of the cheeks, brow bone, nose .... this works perfectly for the famous 'Kim Kardashian' highlight/contouring trick!

Swatch: MAC Pro Longwear Concealer NW15

The concealer blends beautifully into the skin but it can set quite quickly so make sure you work with it straight away once applied. You can see from my photos that it really does smooth and blur fine lines, hence demonstrating on my hand where I have many fine lines from all my cinderella duties.

The Results -
Once applied, your eye area instantly looks a-mazing. You'll find dark circles are no more, the skin looks smoother and line free as even though this is a matte finish, this does not dry into those fine lines or look dry like many other thicker concealers, it just has the ability to make you look fresh and like you have had a full 8 hours sleep!

have often found with some other high end and lower end concealers you need to touch them up throughout the day as you start to lose that brightness around the eye but this one STAYS PUT all day long without the need to reapply at any point but still looking fresh like you have only just done your make-up. It is there until you cleanse and remove all of you make-up which can be a full day like it claims. Is that not what we all want from a concealer? I know I do.

J'Adore!
Seriously impressive stuff and ticks many boxes for me. I cannot say enough good things about this product, not only does it win in the performance and quality stakes but for the price of only £14.50/€17/$18 for 9ml you know this shall last a very long time, so value for money speaks for itself.

Lets just hope they change the pump application maybe in the future but for what it does, I can go with it! I shall most definitely be repeat purchasing this if it ever runs out as it shall surely be a make-up staple for me from now on.

Have you tried Pro Longwear Concealer? Whats your must have MAC item?
Do let me know!

I was supposedly colored matched to be NW25. However, when I got back home it turned too dark for me .so I contacted the mac customer service and they shipped to be 4 concelers in my shade NW15 .. That was AWESOME <3

I hear that most people rave about using it with a beauty blender but since I don't own that :( I use my MAC 193 brush which is ok for now ...

Hope that was helpful

MAC Greenluxe Veluxe Pearlfusion Eyeshadow Palette Review <3

MAC Greenluxe Veluxe Pearlfusion Eyeshadow Palette
($40.00 for 0.14 oz.) is described as shades of “light peach, bright champagne with pearl, dark olive, blackened green with gold pearl and deep forest green with pearl.” Greenluxe is not really as green as you’d expect, so if you were wary, you might still like this but if you are a fiend for green, you’ll be missing those.  #2 and #4 were the two that were very fall-out prone.  I wore this palette on one eye, and after nine hours of wear, there is no creasing, but there is a noticeable amount of fall out–the sparkles in this are finer, so they’re not as large or as visible as glitter would be. I did experience fading with #4 and #5 that was noticeable after seven and a half hours of wear.
Greenluxe #1 is a warm-toned beige with a pearly sheen. It was semi-sheer applied dry and semi-opaque applied wet.
Greenluxe #2 is a pale, light gold with a sparkly, metallic finish. It had semi-sheer color payoff when applied dry but was very loose/crumbly; applied wet, it smoothed out better but would do best with a pressing and crushing technique.
Greenluxe #3 is a dirty gold, kind of pewter-like, but I’d say it’s a little warm to be a true pewter. I’m a total sucker for shades like this, though, because they can look warmer or cooler, depending on what you pair them with. Dry, it had fairly opaque color payoff but was somewhat powdery. Wet, it was smoother, sparkly without being too glittery.
Greenluxe #4 is a blackened green (more like a tint of green) and forest green and gold sparkle and shimmer. Dry, it’s a little gritty from the high sparkle content, and applied wet, it does apply more smoothly with a richer base color, but it still needs to be layered and packed on a bit to get good coverage.
Greenluxe #5 is a reddish brown with a teal duochrome finish. Dry, it looks warmer and browner, while wet it takes on a more dominant teal coloring. .

Hope that helped
